Time for God

We live in a speedy world, everything is fast, everything has to happen now, we don't have time to wait in the queue, we do our shopping online, we take the tube instead of bus because it's a lot faster and we won't be stuck in traffic, we fly from one city to another instead of taking the coach or driving to enjoy the nature.
We don't have time to sit down and read a book, instead we choose audio books because we can do something else while we listen to it.
Even brushing our teeth, we walk around getting our stuff ready, maybe even getting dressed.  I am not saying multitasking it's wrong!
We don't make time for loved ones, a couple of minutes of facetime will do, maybe just a text...what about God?
It seems like today, we do everything on our smartphones, we wake up with the smartphone alarm, check our plans on it, schedule our day on it, maps, trains, social media, everything! I know people that even drink their water by using an app on their phone!
Running around all the time, working, planning, no time to rest, enjoy life and reflect on our priorities. We keep forgetting that God, our family and loved ones should be our priority and not work, money, bigger cars, bigger houses...

Honestly, many of us, myself as well, of course, we say: "In the morning I don't have time to spend with God, I have to get myself ready for work, I can't be late! I'll read tonight", at lunchtime " I only have half an hour break, can't spend it reading the Bible, I'll do it this evening"..then evening comes and we have to make dinner, maybe some laundry, we are tired and all we want to do it's watch TV and go to bed. And a day goes, then another, then another... Maybe we go to church on Sundays and we think that's enough. It's not, because God is more important that everything else we think it's "priority", His Bible is the Book of life, it is our Daily Bread, we need it in our lives, we need God in our lives.
Now, the point of this post is, we don't have to sit down for an hour, read the Bible and pray for 30 minutes or so. God doesn't want us to be robots, He wants a relationship with us. Our job, busy schedules, long hours at work shouldn't stay in our way. If you have the time to sit down and do it, that's perfect, but I'm here to tell you that you can spend time with God on the tube to work, while you're on lunch break, while you're ironing your laundry or cooking dinner. And because we can do everything on our iphones, for sure we can read the Bible on it, we can sing along songs of praise and so much more.
I am thankful to God for my job that allows me to have the time in the morning to read and spend time with God, I use the You Version Bible reading plan and Our Daily Bread app, they are amazing and very helpful. I also like to keep a notebook and write down verses that spoke to me that day and a prayer list. Now, If you don't have the time to sit down, you can definitely do it on your way to work, on the bus or tube, if you're driving you can sing praises and pray.
Bottom line, If we want to spend time with God, there's no excuse, we can make the time or do the best we can with what we have.
How do you spend time with God and when is your favourite time to do it? Is it in your home early in the morning, or on your way to work, or in the evening when everyone has gone to bed? There is no "wrong" time to talk to God!
Be blessed,
Teo
